Pickles Butte Sanitary Landfill is the large landfill on Missouri Avenue that handles bulk trash for Nampa and the surrounding area. Contractors, haulers and residents bringing big loads tend to use this site rather than regular curbside pickup. As a full-scale landfill it operates with a tipping-fee structure typical for landfills, and commercial loads are generally accepted.
Drive up to an entrance booth and you’ll pass a scale - most landfills weigh vehicles and charge by weight, so expect a stop during entry and another on the way out. Pull forward after the booth to the unloading area or working face; the site is expansive with dirt berms, open cells and heavy equipment moving around. Lines form during weekends and spring cleanup, with lots of pickups, roll-offs and semi traffic, so plan for slow-moving queues. Keep an eye out for signage and traffic flow, and stay clear of operating machinery while unloading.
