Bonneville County Landfill is the big county dump out on E. Sunnyside in Idaho Falls, used by homeowners and contractors hauling full loads. Trucks, pickups and occasional roll-offs show up here to drop off material that gets buried on-site. It’s a working, large-scale landfill rather than a neat drop-off center.
Drive up to a scale and an entrance booth - like most landfills, tipping fees are typically calculated by weight, so expect to stop for a weigh-in and weigh-out. The site is expansive with dirt roads, dusty traffic lanes and visible mounds of compacted trash and cover dirt. Commercial trucks are common, so watch for big rigs turning and backing; maneuvering space can be tight. If recycling or special drop-off areas exist they’re generally located off to the side past the booth.
