Transfer Station

Bennett Road Transfer Station

6100 SE County Landfill Rd, Mountain Home, ID 83647

(208) 943-1474

A no-frills transfer station used by Mountain Home residents and local haulers. This is where smaller loads are dropped, compacted, and loaded onto bigger trucks headed for a landfill elsewhere. It’s the kind of place people use when driving all the way to a distant landfill doesn’t make sense.

Drive up to an entrance area with a small booth or checkpoint where vehicles line up to be processed. Expect a scale or weighing point and a short stop at the booth before being directed to the tipping area. The site is practical and industrial - concrete ramps, large bays, compactors and piles of material; it’s not polished, just functional. Weekends and spring cleanup weekends often have longer lines, so plan for a wait during peak times.

Before You Go

  • Secure and tarp loose loads beforehand; wind and bumps will send anything light flying.
  • Sort and consolidate what can be handled together so unloading at the bay is quicker.
  • Try midday on a weekday if possible - mornings, evenings and weekends are when lines get longest.
