(808) 319-9333Small transfer station out in Waiohinu that locals use when hauling a few bags or a truckload and don't want to drive all the way to a big landfill. The site compacts trash and trucks it elsewhere, so it's handy for household cleanups and small projects.
The layout is practical rather than fancy: expect an entrance booth and a scale like at most transfer stations, a working yard, and large containers or a tipping area where trucks operate. Pull up to the booth/scale first, then move to the drop-off spot you're directed to; larger vehicles may need to back in or angle up to a platform. Recycling and bulky-item areas are usually set off to the side, so having things sorted makes unloading quicker. The yard can be dusty or muddy depending on weather, and there’s room for truck maneuvering, so watch for big vehicles.
