Maui County Refuse Collection in Hana is the small county dump locals use for household cleanouts and the occasional haul from a trailer. Located right off HI-360, it’s the practical spot people in town go when regular curb pickup won’t do. Don’t expect anything fancy-just the basics to get rid of bulk rubbish.
Pull off HI-360 into a narrow driveway and there’s a small entrance booth and scale where vehicles pause before heading to the drop zone. The site has open containers, piles of material and heavy equipment around, so drive slowly and watch for tight turning spaces. Surfaces are mostly gravel and concrete pads, and unloading is generally hands-on. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, tend to get backed up.

- Secure loads with tarps and straps for the short drive in; the road into Hana is narrow and windy.
- If towing a trailer, bring someone to spot while backing-maneuvering space can be limited near the containers.
- Wear sturdy shoes and gloves; the ground is uneven and there are often sharp bits in the piles.
