Keei Transfer Station is the small county transfer station out on Puuhonua Road that locals use when a trip to a big landfill isn't worth it. Residents drop off household loads and smaller bulky items here; it's the kind of place people bring a truck or trailer to instead of driving farther down-island. The setting feels island-small - not fancy, just functional and familiar to neighborhood drivers.
Drive up a short drive lane to a staffed entrance booth and be prepared to pull into a scale if instructed - loads are typically weighed before and after. The tipping area is a compact yard with large bays and a compactor truck that hauls things off the island; it looks rough and industrial, not landscaped. Recycling or drop-off bins are usually grouped to one side past the booth, and there’s concrete ramps and chutes where people unload. Weekends and holiday cleanup times often have a line, so plan for a bit of wait if it’s busy.
