Welcome All Transfer Station

5225 Welcome All Rd, Atlanta, GA 30349

Welcome All Transfer Station is a local transfer point in southeast Atlanta where residents drop off household and construction-type loads that get compacted and hauled out to a landfill. Neighbors, contractors and people cleaning out houses use it when a trip straight to a distant landfill isn’t practical. The site sits on Welcome All Road and feels like a working switchyard more than a neat recycling center.

Expect a working, industrial sort of place with a drive-up entrance, an attendant booth and places to queue when it’s busy. Vehicles often pull onto a scale at the front and then are directed to the tipping area where material is dumped into a compactor or pit. There are piles, containers, and heavy equipment moving around, so plan to stay in your vehicle until directed and watch for traffic inside the site. Weekends and spring cleanups tend to have the longest lines and slower unloading.

Before You Go

  • Have a plan for staging and unloading: back the trailer or truck up so the load can be dumped quickly, and bring someone to help with heavy lifting if needed.
  • Be prepared to stop on the inbound scale and again on the outbound scale - traffic flow through the site usually requires that sequence.
  • Avoid peak weekend times if possible; arriving midweek or late afternoon on weekdays usually means shorter lines and less idle time.
