(912) 964-2211Republic Services Savannah Regional Landfill is the big regional landfill out on Clifton Boulevard that handles the final burial of municipal and commercial loads. Locals, landscapers and haulers all use this place when the transfer stations or roll-offs aren’t an option. It’s clearly a large facility on the edge of town and built for heavy truck traffic.
Drive up to an entrance booth or gate where incoming vehicles are directed; many landfills run a public scale so expect to stop to be weighed. Pull-up lanes for trailers and dump trucks are common, with a tipping area or cell where loads are dumped and then covered. The site looks industrial - large open cells, compacted dirt ramps and heavy equipment moving material around. Weekends and spring cleanup times tend to have longer lines, especially for smaller residential vehicles.
