Republic Services Richland Creek Landfill

5691 S Richland Creek Rd, Buford, GA 30518

(770) 271-3575

Republic Services Richland Creek Landfill is the big burial site just outside Buford where neighborhood cleanouts and contractor loads end up. Folks hauling household debris, construction material, or commercial refuse use it as a final stop. It’s the kind of place where trucks line up and the scale matters more than curb appeal.

Expect a commercial-scale operation with heavy equipment and large tipping cells visible from the entrance; it’s not a tidy drop-off center. There’s typically a scale and an entrance booth where vehicles pause to be weighed, so plan for a second stop on the way out because charges are usually by weight. Vehicles will drive up to a working face or designated drop point to unload, then return to the scale for exit weights. Weekends-especially spring cleanup time-can get backed up, so busy periods mean waiting in line with other trucks and trailers.

Before You Go

  • Secure loads with a tarp or straps; loose material can spill and slow the line, and most people won’t want extra sorting while waiting.
  • Have materials sorted as much as possible before arriving (bricks/clean soil separate from mixed construction debris); it speeds unloading and keeps the truck turnaround quicker.
  • Know your vehicle/trailer size and be prepared to back up or maneuver around heavy equipment-give larger trucks plenty of room and watch for loaders and compactors.
