(770) 791-0071Republic Services Oak Grove Landfill is the big landfill outside Winder where trash actually gets buried; mostly used by contractors, haulers and folks with large loads. It's a commercial-scale site-expect big trucks and a working industrial feel rather than a tidy drop-off center.
You drive up to a scale house near the entrance and will probably have to stop to be weighed, since tipping fees are charged by weight and there’s usually a minimum charge for small loads. The entrance has an attendant booth and a lane to pull up, then trucks move out to the working face where material is tipped. The site is mostly dirt, machines, and compacted berms-don’t expect paved walkways or much landscaping. Weekends and spring cleanup times can be busy, with queues of pickups and roll-off trucks waiting to get on the scale.
