(770) 271-3575Republic Services Mauldin Drive Transfer Station is the spot where Alpharetta and nearby residents bring trash and bulky stuff to be compacted and sent off to a landfill. People who don’t want to drive out to a distant landfill or who are clearing out a garage tend to use it. The site sits on Mauldin Drive and looks like a working industrial lot more than a tidy recycle center.
There’s an entrance booth and a short drive in; expect to pull up, speak with someone at the booth, then proceed toward the tipping area. A scale is usually crossed either on the way in or out, so vehicles stop twice and loads are weighed. The main yard has big concrete pits and compactors, with transfer trucks picking up loads to haul away. Recycling or drop-off bins are typically off to one side and the whole place has a gritty, busy feel rather than landscaped grounds.
