(706) 277-2545Old Dixie Hwy. Landfill and Convenience Center is the main landfill just outside Dalton where residents and haulers bring household and construction debris for final disposal. Locals drop off everything from yard waste to large bulky items, and commercial trucks use it too, since it’s a full-scale landfill with tipping fees charged by weight.
The entrance has an intake booth and a drive-over scale, so expect to stop twice-once to check in and again to be weighed. Traffic moves across open cells and working faces; there are piles and compactors visible, so bring a mask if dust bothers you. Pull up slowly to the tipping area when directed and secure any loose loads before backing into the drop zone. Weekend mornings and spring cleanup days are busiest, with lines that can take some time.
