Grady Road Landfill, out on Grady Road in Rockmart, is the spot locals take larger household loads and contractor trucks when other pickup options won’t do. It’s a working landfill - big trucks, open tipping areas and compacted dirt rather than anything pretty.
Expect a weigh scale and an entrance booth as you pull in; tipping fees at landfills are typically charged by weight, so stopping on the scale is part of the process. Drive slowly and give way to heavy trucks - there’s an active tipping face where vehicles back up to dump. The site is mostly gravel and dirt, which gets dusty in dry weather and sloppy after rain, and traffic can back up during busy cleanup times.
