GFL Gwinnett Transfer Station

535 B Seaboard Industrial Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30045

(770) 237-8477

Small industrial lot off Seaboard Industrial Drive where local residents and contractors drop off loads that get compacted and trucked out to a landfill. A working transfer station - not a scenic spot - used mostly by people who want to avoid the long haul to a county landfill. Expect a busy, utilitarian place rather than anything neat or landscaped.

Drive up to a small entrance with a booth and a scale nearby; everyone pulls forward to check in and then heads to the tipping area. Big roll-off bins and compactors dominate the yard, with commercial trucks coming and going on a regular basis. Loads are dumped into the pit or hopper and then compacted or loaded onto bigger trucks for transport elsewhere. Lines build up on weekends and during seasonal cleanups, and backing up to the tip and watching drivers maneuver is part of the routine.

Before You Go

  • Cover loose debris with a tarp or tie it down so trash doesn’t blow out while waiting in line or on the drive home.
  • Bring helpers or be prepared to lift and toss-there aren’t usually loading crews for residential drop-offs and some items are heavy or awkward to move.
  • Arrive in a truck or a vehicle that can handle hauling a load; tight turning and backing space can make maneuvering small cars awkward.
