A county recycling center in Jackson that people from town and nearby rural areas bring their curbside and drop-off loads to. It handles common recyclable items and has space for larger items that don’t fit in neighborhood bins. Neighbors use it for seasonal cleanups, cardboard from businesses, and separating metals from regular trash.
Drive up to a small entrance booth and be prepared to pull through slowly; there’s usually a scale or weigh station somewhere near the drive lane for transfer stations. Recycling containers and roll-off areas sit off to the right past the entrance, with separate spots for paper and cardboard, mixed containers, and bulky metal items. The site is on a former industrial lot - mostly gravel and pavement, with a few concrete pads and a fence around the perimeter. Lines, especially on weekends and during spring yard cleanup, can back up into the drive; plan a little extra time if unloading large loads.
