Atkinson County's SR 50 facility in Willacoochee is the county disposal site for folks around here. Located on Author Davis Drive, it’s what people use when hauling household trash or larger items out of town.
Pull in off Author Davis Drive and stop at the small entrance booth or office before driving further into the site. There’s a short pull-up area where trailers and trucks line up; recycling bins are often off to the right and larger containers or piles sit farther in. The ground is mostly gravel and dirt, so expect dust, some mud after rain, and the sight of trucks working the site. Payment and check-in happen at that booth, so be prepared to stop there either before or after unloading.
