Republic Services North Florida Recycling Center

7000 Imeson Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32219

(800) 331-2909

A working recycling center on Imeson Road that locals bring household and yard-type recyclables to keep stuff out of the landfill. Neighbors, landscapers and people doing cleanups drop off cardboard, metals, plastics and organic yard debris here. The site is busy at times and looks like a commercial sorting yard rather than a tidy public drop-off.

The entrance sits off 7000 Imeson Road with a small booth and scale area where trucks and cars queue before pulling into the main yard. Large concrete bays and open-top containers line the lot; mixed recycling containers are typically grouped together while yard waste piles are kept to one side. Expect dust, the rumble of compactors and large equipment; slow-moving traffic and weekend lines are common, especially during hurricane cleanup season. Drivers usually pull up to a bay, unload onto the concrete pad and then drive back out past the scale.

Before You Go

  • Sort and flatten boxes before bringing them - it cuts unloading time and saves space in the containers.
  • Secure loose debris with a tarp or tie-downs so nothing blows out during transport; windy days make a mess fast.
  • Show up earlier in the morning on weekends or during seasonal cleanups to avoid long lines and waiting behind contractors.
