Perdido Landfill on Beulah Road is the big county dump in Cantonment where locals and contractors bring the stuff that gets buried. People come when a regular trash can’t handle it - yard cleanups, construction loads, and house clear-outs all end up here.
There’s a scale and an entrance booth area, so expect to slow down and stop to be weighed; landfills charge by weight, so plan for that. The site is wide open with large piles, bulldozers and roll-off trucks moving around, and a main tipping face where vehicles unload. Backing up to the tip and dumping happens quickly if the load is ready, so most folks sort and bundle things in the truck beforehand. Lines build up on weekends and especially after storms, when lots of curbside debris shows up.
