Osceola Landfill

Osceola Landfill, 1930 E. Osceola Road, Geneva, 32732, Florida

Small county landfill a few miles east of Reed City, used by homeowners and local haulers from surrounding rural areas. It’s the place where trash ends up for burial, so expect regular pickup trucks, trailers and commercial roll-offs coming through.

There’s a weigh scale and an entrance booth to check in; loads are typically charged by weight with tipping fees, so vehicles usually stop twice - once in and once out. The site is large and open with visible dirt cells and compacted piles, and commercial trucks are a common sight. Pull up slowly to the booth, follow the traffic flow past the scale, then head to the disposal area pointed out from the office.

Before You Go

  • Bring a tarp for loose trash and secure loads - wind can scatter light stuff on the drive in.
  • Return deposit bottles and cans at a redemption center first; Michigan’s bottle deposit law means those items often aren’t part of landfill tipping.
  • Expect delays on weekends and during spring cleanup, especially if a few dump trucks are ahead in line.
