Transfer Station

Mc Leod Road Transfer Station

5000 L B McLeod Rd, Orlando, FL 32811

(407) 836-6601

A working transfer station where household and residential loads get compacted and trucked off to a landfill elsewhere. Locals come here when hauling things that are too big for curbside pickup or when a landfill is just too far to drive to.

Drive in toward an entrance booth and be prepared to stop briefly; there's usually a scale you cross and vehicles queue for a short time. The site is industrial-big concrete bays, compactors and piles of material in separate sections; yard debris is commonly kept in its own area at Florida facilities. Bring a secured load since loose material can blow around, and know that weekends and after storms tend to be the busiest times.

Before You Go

  • Cover and tie down loose items so nothing blows off while you’re on site or heading home.
  • Aim for midweek or early morning to avoid the weekend lines, and expect much longer waits after hurricanes or neighborhood cleanups.
  • Sort bulky green waste from mixed trash before you get there; many Florida stations have separate drop areas for yard debris which speeds things up.
