Central County Solid Waste Disposal Complex on Knights Trail is where Nokomis residents and small haulers drop off household trash, yard clippings and recyclables. It’s a county-style disposal site that sees neighborhood pickups, contractor trucks and the occasional long line when everyone is cleaning out the garage.
Drive up to a staffed entrance booth to check in and handle payment; many folks run across a scale so expect to stop twice. The site is fairly large with paved driveways, concrete bays and piles of material visible from the road. Trucks, roll-offs and trailers move around, so take it slow and watch for traffic. Recycling and yard-waste areas are separated from the main trash drop-offs, so sorting ahead of time makes unloading quicker.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
