Broward County Landfill in Southwest Ranches is where residents and haulers bring big stuff that won’t fit in regular trash pickup. Locals use it for cleanouts, construction debris, and other oversized loads; commercial trucks show up here too.
Drive up to an entrance booth and then pass over a scale - tipping fees are typically charged by weight, so expect to stop again when you leave. The site looks like a working yard: heavy equipment, dump trucks, and large mounds of material with active tipping areas. Passenger vehicles and small trailers can usually pull up to unload, while larger commercial loads are handled separately and billed under a different fee structure. During hurricane season or right after big storms the line and the piles will be noticeably bigger and operations can be slower.
