Wethersfield Transfer Station is the town’s place to drop off household trash and recyclables before it gets compacted and trucked out of state. Folks from Wethersfield and nearby towns use it when curbside pickup isn’t enough or for bigger loads that won’t fit in the trash can.
Drive up to a small entrance booth where staff will usually check that the vehicle is allowed to use the site; there’s a scale and a compacting area further in. The yard is mostly concrete and fencing, with large roll-off containers and a few permanent bays for different materials. Pull into the line if it’s busy - weekend mornings and spring cleanup season get backed up. After unloading, vehicles typically head back past the scale before exiting.
