Town of Watertown Transfer Station is the small municipal spot locals use to drop off household trash and recyclables before it gets shipped out of state. Regular residents and anyone with a Watertown permit use it for loads that are easier to leave here than haul to a distant landfill.
There’s a small entrance booth and a scale - vehicles usually stop at the booth first and often get weighed when leaving. Expect a compacting area and large roll-off trucks; trash doesn’t stay here long, it gets loaded and driven out. Lines can form on weekend mornings and during spring cleanup, so there’s usually a bit of waiting with pickup trucks and trailers queued up.
