A municipal transfer station in Stamford where residents and small haulers drop off household trash for compaction and onward hauling. People from the city and nearby towns use it when curbside pickup isn’t enough or for larger, occasional loads.

After the initial stop, vehicles are directed toward the drop-off area where trash is compacted and loaded into larger trucks for transport out of state. The site is industrial-looking: concrete bays, compactors, and tall piles or containers of material. Expect weekend congestion, especially in spring and early fall when cleanouts happen.
