Mansfield Landfill is the town’s landfill site on Warrenville Road, the place where trash is buried rather than sent to a transfer station. Locals and commercial haulers who need a final-destination facility use it for large or bulk loads. It’s the kind of spot people go to when pickup trucks, trailers, or business vans are hauling material that won’t fit in curbside bins.
There’s a scale you drive over so loads are weighed, and tipping fees are calculated by weight with different rates for residential versus commercial loads. Pull up to an entrance booth/scale area to be weighed, then follow the traffic flow to the tipping area or cells where material is unloaded. The site looks industrial - mounds of covered material, machinery in the distance, and simple directional signs rather than landscaped grounds. Expect slower traffic on weekends and during seasonal cleanups, with trucks queuing to get weighed and to empty.
