Lebanon Transfer Station

179 Exeter Rd, Lebanon, CT 06249

(860) 642-7901

Lebanon Transfer Station is the town's place to drop off household refuse and recyclables; local residents and people from neighboring towns use it when they don't want to haul trash out of town. It compacts material on site and then trucks it out to a landfill elsewhere, so trips here are usually shorter than driving to a distant dump.

A small entrance booth and a gated drive are visible from the road; expect to pull up to the booth for a quick check before being sent through. Vehicles usually cross a scale and then are directed toward the tipping area or recycling bays and compactors. The site looks industrial - concrete pads, large containers, and compacting equipment - with traffic flow one way for drop-offs. Weekends and spring cleanup days tend to have the longest lines, so plan around that if possible.

Before You Go

  • Have trash and recyclables mostly separated and ready to unload before getting to the booth to speed things up.
  • Many Connecticut towns require a transfer station permit, so bring any town-issued permit or proof of residency if one is needed.
  • Use straps or tarps for loose items to keep them from blowing out of the truck while driving to and from the site.
