Granby Transfer Station is the town’s spot for dropping off household trash and recyclables before it’s compacted and sent elsewhere. Local residents and small haulers use it when hauling from home is easier than heading to a distant landfill. The site sits on Old Stagecoach Road and feels like a typical small-town transfer station.
There’s an entrance booth and a drive-up lane where vehicles stop briefly before proceeding to the disposal area. Large compactors and transfer buildings are visible from the lane, with piles and containers arranged around a central tipping floor. Expect to pull up, tip or unload, then drive back past the scale area for weighing if required by the town. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, can back up the lane so allow extra time.
