(866) 909-4458Large municipal landfill on the southeast side of Aurora, used by residents and commercial haulers from the Denver metro area. It’s the kind of place people bring everything they’re done with - yard debris, construction junk, bulky items - and leave it to be buried. Easy to spot off S Gun Club Rd, with big earth piles and working equipment visible from the road.
Pull up to an entrance booth/scale area where vehicles are routed; most landfills charge by weight so expect to stop on the scale twice - in and out. The site is expansive with unpaved drive areas, heavy machinery, and large active tipping faces where trucks tip loads. Recycling or drop-off containers are usually off to the side past the initial checkpoint, and commercial trucks will be guided differently than cars and pickup loads. Weekends and spring cleanup days get busy, so there can be lines backing up toward the road.
