Republic Services Foothills Landfill sits off CO‑93 in Golden and handles larger loads that don’t fit in curbside pickup. Locals, landscapers and commercial haulers use it when a normal trash day won’t cut it.
There’s a scale and a small entry booth where vehicles stop to be weighed-tipping fees are charged by weight, so expect to be weighed in and out. The site is large and open, with heavy equipment, transfer trucks and piles of material visible from the approach. Follow the signs and the flow of traffic to the active tipping area and be ready for some backing and maneuvering. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, get backed up and lines can form on the access road.

- Aim for a weekday morning if possible; fewer landscapers and contractors around then make for a quicker visit.
