Paradox Transfer Station

7300 U rd, Bedrock, CO 81411

Paradox Transfer Station is the local drop-off spot in Bedrock where residential and small-haul loads get compacted and sent on to a distant landfill. Locals, landscapers, and folks doing big cleanups use it when driving straight to a landfill would be a pain. It sits off U Rd and looks like a working industrial lot rather than a tidy recycling center.

Drive up to a small entrance booth and stop briefly at the scale area - vehicles are usually weighed in and out so expect to pause. After that, pull forward to the tipping bays or compactors; concrete walls and big metal containers are the norm, with haul trucks coming and going. There’s often a separate cluster of bins or containers near the right side for easier drop-offs, and weekend lines can build up, especially during spring cleanup season. Plan on walking a short distance from your vehicle to the disposal area and staging loads for quick dumping.

Before You Go

  • Bring tools and gloves so heavy or awkward items can be unstrapped and handled quickly; having help to lift bulky pieces speeds things up.
  • Load items so they can be tossed or slid out easily - loose piles in a pickup box are faster than tangled, tied-down masses.
  • Avoid peak times if possible: weekdays and early mornings are usually quicker than weekend afternoons when local cleanups peak.
