Main Archuleta County Landfill is the county dump out on Co Rd 500 that folks from Pagosa Springs and the surrounding area use for household cleanouts and contractor loads. It’s the place people go when curbside pickup won’t handle the job or after big yard jobs and remodels.
There’s a small entrance booth and a scale - loads are charged by weight, so expect to stop on the scale coming in and again when leaving. The site is the typical open pit and berms of compacted trash, with a few bays and traffic lanes to guide trucks and trailers. Commercial loads are accepted, but tipping fees are handled at the scale with a minimum charge for small loads. Lines can build up on weekends and during spring cleanup season, so plan accordingly.
