Larimer County Landfill on S. Taft Hill Road is the county landfill used by Fort Collins residents and commercial haulers when a load is too big for curbside. Trucks and pickup loads show up here for disposal; it’s the place trash gets buried rather than recycled on-site.
Drive up to a gate with an entrance booth and a scale; tipping fees are charged by weight so expect to stop at the scale again after dumping. The site is large and industrial-looking with dirt roads, big mounds of compacted material and heavy equipment moving around, so watch for traffic and uneven ground. Vehicles are directed where to unload and many people have to back into a tipping area, so be ready to maneuver a trailer or truck bed. Weekends and spring cleanup times often have lines, while weekday mornings usually move more quickly.
