Kit Carson County Landfill

19555 Co Rd 46, Burlington, CO 80807

(719) 346-8198

The Kit Carson County Landfill is the county dump just outside Burlington, used by residents and local contractors for final disposal. It’s the place to bring household junk, construction debris, and commercial loads that can’t be handled at curbside pickup.

Drive in off County Road 46 and follow the short driveway to a small entrance area with a booth and a scale; most county landfills charge tipping fees by weight or by load, so plan for a weigh-in and weigh-out. Pull up to the tipping area or lined cells where trucks and trailers unload; expect gravel roads, mounds of compacted material, and heavy equipment moving around. Recycling or drop-off bins are often located to one side of the main dump area, and traffic can back up on weekends or during spring cleanups.

Before You Go
