Breckenridge Recycling Center

284 Coyne Valley Rd, Breckenridge, CO 80424

(970) 668-5703

Breckenridge Recycling Center is the local drop-off spot for residents and anyone clearing out after a season in town. Most people bring bags of paper and cardboard, bottles and cans, and other curbside-style recyclables.

The site has an outdoor, drive-up feel with rows of large bins and roll-offs rather than a big indoor facility. Look for clearly labeled containers for paper, cardboard, glass, metals and common plastics; counties in Colorado also sometimes run seasonal programs for electronics or leftover paint. Pull up slowly and you’ll likely unload at the edge of a bin or from the back of a vehicle; many mountain recycling sites have limited space so truck maneuvering can be a squeeze. Weekends and late spring tend to be the busiest times, so expect a line if bringing a full load.

Before You Go

  • Break down cardboard and flatten boxes to save space and speed up unloading.
  • Secure loose items in the vehicle-wind on Coyne Valley Rd can blow lightweight things into neighboring bins or the roadside.
  • Sort recyclables at home into separate bags or boxes (paper, glass, plastic) so unloading goes faster and fewer trips to different bins are needed.
