Boulder County Recycling Center

1901 63rd St, Boulder, CO 80301

(720) 564-2220

A straightforward recycling center in north Boulder that residents use to keep recyclables out of the landfill. Easy to spot on 63rd Street, it’s the kind of place people swing by with a carload after a big cleanout. Neighbors, contractors and small businesses all tend to drop stuff here.

Pull up to an entrance booth and you’ll see a few large open bays and rows of containers; the recycling bins are usually off to one side and larger items have their own drop areas. There’s a scale house near the driveway so vehicles slow down as they enter and leave. Common materials accepted at centers like this include cardboard, mixed paper, glass, metals, many plastics, and often electronics or bulky items during special drop-off events. Weekends and spring cleanup times can get busy, so there’s frequently a short line to get in.

Before You Go

  • Bring items sorted by material if possible - it speeds things up and keeps traffic moving.
  • Back into bays for easier unloading of large boxes or appliances, and have doors/unloads ready before you reach staff or the booth.
  • If hauling yard waste or electronics, plan for possible separate lanes or special event days; those usually have their own stations.
