(408) 730-7400Sunnyvale Solid Waste Management is the local spot for dropping off household trash, yard waste and common recyclables. Neighbors and small haulers use it when curbside pickup isn’t enough or during big cleanups. It sits on W Olive Ave and has the feel of a working yard rather than a tidy storefront.
Drive up to an entrance booth where vehicles queue and directions are given; be prepared to pull up slowly since there’s a scale to cross either coming in or going out. The site is large with piles, dumpsters and different containers visible from the driveway; recycling bins are usually grouped off to one side past the booth. Expect trucks and loaders moving around, so watch the signage and follow traffic flow through the lanes. Weekends, especially spring and fall, commonly have lines and a more crowded lot.
