(831) 775-3000Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority is the city’s main drop-off for regular household trash, recycling and yard materials. Locals, landscapers and small haulers all use it when curbside pickup isn’t an option or for larger loads.
Pull into the entrance on Sun Street and you’ll see an entrance booth and a scale area where trucks and cars pause. The site is fairly industrial - big roll-off containers, piles of green material and semi trucks moving around - so take it slow when driving through. Recycling bins tend to be off to the right past the booth and yard/green waste piles are usually clustered to one side; household trash bays are separate and a little farther in. Weekends can get busy, especially during spring cleanup, so lines at the booth are common.
