Rock Creek Landfill is the final place where trash gets buried, out on Hunt Road near Milton in the Farmington area. Locals and haulers drop loads here-residential pickups and the bigger commercial trucks both show up. It’s the kind of place you go when recycling options don’t cover what’s left.
There’s an entrance booth and a big scale-plan to slow down and get weighed, then dump, then weigh out again since tipping fees are usually charged by weight (often quoted per ton with a minimum). The site is large with bulldozers and compactors working the piles; expect dust, diesel smells, and a lot of heavy equipment moving slowly. Lines can build up on weekends and during spring cleanups, so bring patience. Drive carefully on the access roads and follow directional signs once inside the yard.
