(951) 486-3200A small county-run household hazardous waste disposal center in Palm Springs, used by residents dropping off paints, cleaners, batteries and similar items. Mostly neighborhood people and homeowners make runs here during cleanup days or when clearing out the garage.
Drive up Vella Road and you’ll see a guarded entrance with a small booth and a few lanes to pull into; vehicles line up at busy times, especially on weekends. There are covered bays and drop-off stations where people unload from cars or trucks and place materials on tables or in marked containers. Expect to stop at the booth first and then move through a short queue to the drop-off area; traffic flows slowly as people unload and sort by container or type. The site looks utilitarian - concrete pads, metal awnings, plenty of signage - and usually has a couple of large collection containers visible from the lanes.
