This is the big Republic Services landfill out on S Austin Road in Manteca, where most trash ends up for burial. Contractors with roll-offs and residents with pickup loads both use it; it handles large commercial deliveries as well as smaller loads from people cleaning out garages or yards. The site feels industrial-big trucks, heavy equipment, and a lot of open dirt.

A scalehouse/booth greets vehicles and loads are weighed, so expect to stop on the scale and then again after tipping. Driving in, the road is dusty and lined with trucks and compactors; tipping areas are obvious from the piles and machinery. Tipping fees are charged by weight (tonnage) and the pricing structure typically separates residential and commercial loads. Weekends and spring cleanup times get backed up, and wind can blow debris, so secure loads and watch for loose material on the road.
