(916) 387-8425Republic Services Elder Creek Transfer Station is the local transfer station on Elder Creek Road that handles residential drop-offs and commercial loads before they get trucked out to a landfill. People who don't want to make the long drive to a landfill come here for smaller loads and contractor drop-offs. Expect an industrial, no-frills place where things move fast when it's not backed up.
Drive up to a small entrance/permit booth and queue with other cars and trucks; there’s usually a line on weekend mornings. Vehicles are weighed on a scale, so plan for a stop at the scale on the way in and again on the way out. After weighing, pull into lanes that lead to a tipping area-look for large concrete bays, compactors and diesel trucks around the yard. Loads are compacted and hauled off-site, so don’t be surprised by noise, dust and the sight of big haulers coming and going.
