Republic Services East Los Angeles Transfer Station and Recycling Center

1512 N Bonnie Beach Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90063

(323) 881-8999

A neighborhood recycling center in East LA that handles residential drop-offs and small commercial loads. People bring bottles, cans, cardboard and other recyclables here instead of the landfill. It’s the sort of place neighbors use when doing a big cleanout or separating out recyclables from their regular trash.

Drive up to an entrance booth and be prepared to stop; there’s usually a scale and traffic flow that requires you to wait your turn. Recycling bins and sorting areas are visible from the drive lane, with piles or containers for common materials like paper, cardboard, plastics and metals. Expect concrete pads, open-sided bays and forklifts or loaders moving materials - the site is industrial, not tidy. Weekends and spring cleanup days get busy, so there can be lines and some waiting in your car.

Before You Go

  • Bring items already separated as much as possible so unloading goes faster - loose cardboard flattened and bottles in a separate bag help.
  • Have small items packed in boxes or buckets to carry; hands-free movement makes it easier to follow the traffic flow and avoid blocking the entrance.
  • Go during weekday mornings if possible to avoid the weekend backlog and have fewer cars to wait behind.
