Transfer Station

Ramona Disposal Transfer Station (Public Disposal Site

324 Maple St, Ramona, CA 92065

(760) 789-0516

Small-town transfer station just off Maple Street that Ramona residents use to drop off household trash and small loads that get compacted and hauled out to a larger landfill. It’s the kind of place people swing by instead of driving to a distant dump. The site is public and set up for neighborhood-scale deliveries rather than commercial fleet operations.

Drive up to an entrance booth and wait to be directed onto the scale; most transfer stations charge by weight, so there’s usually a second stop on the way out. The tipping area is a paved pad with concrete walls and a big compactor or transfer container visible from the lot. Recycling and organics separation is common in California, so there will often be separate bins or areas past the booth where items need to be put. Weekends and spring cleanup times get busy, with lines forming out toward the street.

Before You Go

  • Have your load roughly sorted before pulling into the booth so unloading goes faster and the attendant can tell you where to put things.
  • Bring gloves, straps or tarps - debris can be dusty and loads shift when dumping onto the pad.
  • Plan for possible wait times on weekends; arriving early in the morning typically means a shorter line than midday.
