Transfer Station

Mid Valley Disposal & Transfer

15300 W Jensen Ave, Kerman, CA 93630

(559) 237-9425

Small transfer station on the west side of Kerman that locals use when the county landfill is too far. Mostly residential cars and small trucks show up to drop off household trash and the occasional contractor load. It’s the kind of place people swing by for a quick dump rather than a full-day run to Fresno.

There’s a single drive-in lane with an attendant booth and a weigh scale so trucks usually stop twice - once in and once out - since charges are by weight at transfer stations. The site is industrial-looking: concrete tipping floors, compactors and transfer trailers where waste is shoved into larger trucks. Lines form on weekend mornings and during seasonal cleanups, and commercial trucks move through on their own schedule so watch for backing vehicles. Pull up, let the attendant direct you, then head to the tipping area to unload.

Before You Go

  • Arrive early on weekends to avoid the long lines that build later in the morning.
  • Load top-to-bottom so household items can be dumped quickly; having cardboard flattened and loose trash accessible speeds things up.
  • Keep a tarp and straps ready-loads can shift on the drive there and tarps make cleanup easier if something blows out.
