(559) 583-8829Kings Waste and Recycling Authority on Hanford Armona Road is the local recycling center folks use for drop-offs from around town. Neighbors bring common recyclables - think cardboard, aluminum cans, glass, some plastics and yard debris - the sorts of things most centers accept. Since California requires more separation of organics these days, plan to keep food scraps and yard trimmings separate from your other materials.
Drive up to an entrance with a small booth and a scale - many people stop on the way in and again on the way out because charges are generally weight-based. Past the booth the recycling bins and roll-off containers are easy to spot, usually off to the right, with separate spots for cardboard, metal and glass. The site is mostly open-air with trucks and loaders coming through, so drive slow and be ready to hop out to unload. Lines build up on weekends and during spring cleanup, so expect longer waits then.
