Kiefer Landfill is the big landfill out on Kiefer Boulevard at Grant Line Road in Sloughhouse. Local residents, landscapers and commercial haulers bring larger loads here rather than smaller transfer stations.
There’s an entrance booth with a scale, so plan to stop and be weighed-vehicles usually stop again on the way out. The site is large with open tipping areas, long dirt roads and plenty of truck traffic; it can get dusty and muddy after rain. Tipping fees are charged by weight, with minimums for small loads and different rates for commercial deliveries. Keep in mind that California requires more separation of organics and recyclables, so be ready to separate material if directed.
