(661) 862-8900Kern County Waste Management Department in the Arvin/Bakersfield area is the county-run drop-off for local household and small commercial loads. Neighbors bring everything from regular trash to mixed loads that need sorting; this is the place most people in town use when their regular pickup won’t cut it.
There’s an entry booth and a vehicle scale, so plan to slow down and stop more than once during the visit. Drive lanes are marked and larger trucks and trailers pull up to the main tipping area; passenger cars usually edge into a separate lane. Look for recycling and separated material stations a short distance past the entrance, and be ready to hop out to move items if needed. The site is an open industrial yard-expect dust, gravel, and large containers or piles of material around the working areas.
