Heaps Peak Disposal Site

29898 CA-18, Running Springs, CA 92382

(800) 722-8004

Heaps Peak Disposal Site is the local dump for Running Springs residents who need to drop off household trash and construction-type loads. Neighbors, landscapers and small contractors use it for routine disposal and cleanups. It sits right on CA-18 and looks like the typical mountain disposal site-not fancy, but it does the job.

Drive up to a small entrance booth and prepare to slow down; there’s usually a scale somewhere near the entry or exit so vehicles stop twice. The pile areas and roll-off bays are visible from the drive; concrete pads and berms mark where different loads get tipped. Recycling bins and organics collection are often grouped to one side just past the gate, so pull wide if dropping off mixed material. On busy days the line can snake out toward the highway, so plan extra time.

Before You Go

  • Sort recyclables and organics at home if possible-California rules mean many places expect that separation and it saves time at the site.
  • Cover and secure loads for the drive up CA-18; gusts and steep grades can shift loose material on the way.
  • Avoid peak weekend hours when possible; spring and holiday cleanup times are the busiest and lines get long.
