(714) 834-4000Frank R. Bowerman Landfill is a large regional landfill near Bee Canyon that handles the final burial of solid waste; casual public dumping is not allowed. Local haulers and commercial accounts are the typical users, with the site operating on a scale-and-tipping-fee model common in California.
Drive up to an entrance booth and be prepared to pull onto a truck scale for weighing; tipping fees are assessed by weight, so vehicles normally stop twice - in and out. The site is expansive with clay-covered working faces, heavy equipment moving around, and clearly defined traffic lanes for larger trucks. There are usually areas for separation of recyclables or organics at many California facilities, so expect signage or locations where materials are sorted before burial.
